After discussing various ways to give back to the community with elders, respected members of the community, and the RCMP, it was brought to my attention, that funding should be directed towards a healthy initiative aimed at helping the youth in the community. On 30 Aug 16, a cheque was presented from Boomer’s Legacy for $10,000 to the breakfast club at the Simon Alaittuq School. “As a long-time administrator in Rankin Inlet, we notice that attendance and behavior have improved with a snack program in place. It costs a lot to maintain a snack program. This donation would clearly help in the delivery of our program. We cannot thank you enough for your thoughtfulness and generosity in the support of our program,” said Bev Hill, Principal, Simon Alaittup School. Major Andrew Vandor
